Disclaimer

Climbing is a dangerous activity. Grades are, by nature, subjective and do not pretend to be anything else than purely indicative. They may sometimes be underestimated, particularly but not limited to the Er Long shan area.

Fixed gear, bolts and anchors, don’t come with any guarantee that they would resist a fall, or even a light load. They suffer from the wear of time, especially in Qingdao’s aggressive coastal weather. Be cautious at all times, carefully inspect all fixed gear before climbing, bring some traditional protections and do not hesitate turning back.

Rope lengths indicated in this website are purely indicative and often inaccurate. We highly recommend that you bring significantly longer rope than theoretically required and always, always, always tie a knot at the end of the belayer’ strand.

Climbing sites listed in this book may not be accessible at all times, if at all. Please comply with all applicable policies, regulations and government instructions.

It should come as an evidence that we all should do our very best to protect our beautiful planet and the environment we live in. Fire prevention is paramount and no-one should bring into the mountains anything that could set fire, included waste glass, that may end up setting a fire by magnifying sun rays. We ask readers and climbers to do all you can to leave no trace. Obviously, you shall not litter and it is much appreciated if you can contribute to bringing back any litter you may find in the mountains.
